4th of July Weekend...

What an amazing weekend! So Thursday night I went up to Mike and Lindsey's and spent the night to be there to help out in the morning. We woke up bright and early and headed over to the neighborhood parade route to get "our" spot. This is a tradition that I have been participating in for a long time and absolutely love it. After the parade we went to the pancake breakfast down in the park and of course it was so delish. We stopped on the way home for a snow cone and then back home to rest.

Then I drove back to Provo to pick up 2 of my friends(Matt and Dan) from my ward and we headed out to Lake Powell for the rest of the weekend. My parents and Josh and Lauren were out there and so me and the boys got talking and decided we couldn't miss out so we headed out there and made it just in time for fireworks on the Lake. We sat on top of some friends house boat and it was a perfect way to officially start the trip. Unfortunately Saturday morning a storm came in and we ended up sitting on the boat for a better part of the morning in the marina waiting for it to pass. But my friends didn't care as we had a blast just hanging out with the family.
Boys, doing what they do best...

After day one of boating all of the adults went to this fantastic Mexican restaurant in town while the kids stayed home with a babysitter from their ward that was out there with her family! We had a great time and my friends got along so well with my family it was unbelievable. We were constantly laughing and having fun! They were also very helpful with the boat and my dad was very appreciative. It was awesome.
All of us at dinner...

Then to Sonic for dessert...

Day 2: perfect weather all morning! We headed out to Dangling rope for some ice cream... Before we got there we stopped in a favorite cove and swam and the boys and I went over to the rocks and did some exploring...I have never swam so far in my life and hiked ever so adventurously. My family was shocked by my enthusiasm! ha. Then we headed back around 2 p.m. as another storm was coming in and successfully made it off the water just before the biggest wind storm came in. We were so lucky. Then the boys and I said our good byes and headed back to Provo. Such an amazing weekend and my family could not stop talking about how great the boys were. I think they like them more than me. just maybe...
